Empowering
Tomorrow's
Leaders
Through Philanthropy
The Latino Family Fund promotes Latino participation in philanthropy and supports local nonprofits through grants. Their Youth in Philanthropy and Leadership Program empowers GUSD middle school students to lead grant-giving efforts, teaching them to identify community needs, prioritize support, and award grants.
This program aims to increase student involvement in philanthropy and community service, fostering leadership opportunities. Students participate in meetings, community service, and guest speaker sessions, learning about leadership’s role in academics and life success.
LFF funds the program with a $500 annual grant, facilitating meetings, selecting recipients, arranging speakers, and supporting activities. School staff engage with 15-20 students and parents to ensure program success with the help of school counselors.
The program enables GUSD middle schoolers to develop leadership, community service, and academic skills while making a positive local impact.

Leadership
Our program aims to increase student involvement in philanthropy and community service, fostering leadership opportunities. Students participate in meetings, community service, and guest speaker sessions, where they learn about leadership’s role in academics and life success.
Integration
We work with local middle schools to integrate education and community engagement. Students help select grantee winners at their end-of-year ceremony, participate in site visits, and tour colleges and companies. This approach gives them real-world experience and deepens their connection to the community.
